Thank you for the video. Very useful, I'm in this situation, I plug Rode Rodecaster pro II plug in laptop. At the moment I couldn't separate Audio track / the vocal. When I record as Karaoke audio play back from the smart phone feeding Bluetooth to Rodecaster pro II and the Mic. As Reaper only give me a single track both audio and my vocal. I will try your setting tonight, hopes it would work.

Actually you didn't show the bass with the switch added at all. And there should be a sound difference with changing from active to passive and visa versa. Might be your first video? But it might make people doubt you succeeded fixing the active/passive switch. I am not saying you didn't.

So you are saying the scheme you had was not right. Can you please share the RIGHT scheme with us? Thanks in advance!

How do I know which wire is the "preamp input"? I installed a dpdt switch on my bass as well. I took the hot wire from the volume pot since it's the only one that goes to the preamp and as there wasn't any wire from my blend pot going to the preamp. The thing is I was able tk run my circuit in passive but there was no sound coming out from the active side. I can only use my bass in passive at the moment. Lol. I used exactly your wiring, same as with Dan Thompson of Guns n Guitars.

Did you ever end up actually drilling a hole in the bass for the switch? Thanks.

Great video, man, will definitely give it a try one of these days. On other things, I have an ESP LTD sm204 with active eq and overnight started sounding very low. Already checked the battery, cable, amp and for lose wiring and all looks good. Have you had this problem? Any ideas? Thanks

By the way... Great video! I guess the volume pot doesn't work in passive mode either since esp i think had the volume pot in the active preamp, right? I'm wondering about a 3 position toggle switch.... Active, passive in middle, passive With signal disconnected in the top position. Do you think that makes any sense?

What is your eight channel interface? Is it a mixer or a mixer/amp?

Do you have a diagram or drawing for this?

A 6 db boost or cut is fairly extreme, makes sense you wouldn't want to use more than about 50% of the sliders range...Have you tried other units like the Boss Ge-7?

Thanks .Clear explanation.What if the (USB) audio interface has One (1) line in put, 1 volume, and 1 headphone hole.? Example is Line 6 Toneport GX, Behringer guiter link UGC 102 etc... In Reaper DAW set as Output First 1,Last 2 and Input as First 1 ,Last 2. It works. Can somebody explain the devise has only (1) INPUT as line in or instrument. Why the first input as 1 is OK but why the last input as 2 which is non or a ghosted exist! Cheers.
